What do you all think about having the US flag waving off of your truck? I've thought about putting one either around and antenna or having a bigger one in the back of the truck. What's your guys' opinion on this?

I put American Flag stickers on everyone of my trucks during the Gulf War. I'm gonna do it again.

It seems appropriate, but it doesn't help much. I'd rather have a muslim's head a a hood ornament.

 

Let's not finger all Muslims. Its not fair to anyone to brush such a broad stroke. There are many Muslims who had nothing to do with it, and are just as outraged as you are.

I know, I've worked with them and they're proud to be Americans, just like you. A year and a half ago, I took a friend at work to dinner for steak and potatoes (traditional American meal). We were celebrating his becoming an American citizen. He was PROUD to be an American. He even went so far as telling me that he would fight for America against his former country because America gave him something they didn't: FREEDOM. It made me even more proud to be an American. And the sad thing is he knew more about American history than 99% of America's native born.

Don't get me wrong, I'm outraged, angry and hurt. But lets come together as a country and not start pointing fingers because of someone's religion.

People are coming together in our country. That's ALL types of people! That's what made our country what it is. It is nice to see people, first hand, who don't know what it is like to live in a country like ours and live and understand what FREEDOM is all about.
Believe me, I want to see Justice served. Let us make sure we HAMMER the proper person or people. Once we find the right person, let's HAMMER HIM HARD!

On Independence Day 2000, I saw a man in a lifted, fullsize chevy truck driving down the road, with a flagpole placed in his bed's right front post hole, flying the stars and stripes in all their everlasting glory. I thought it was the most awesome thing I'd seen in a long time. To see five feet of flag waving there was inspiring. When I told my friends about it, they tried to talk me into doing it too. I think that perhaps it is time for my F-250 to carry those stars and stripes. Nothing is more American than a full size truck, be it Ford, Chevy, or (formerly) Dodge. And the American flag makes it better.

I'm not trying to cause a big debate here. But I live in Michigan, and most of my life I was raised in the Detroit area. Dearborn, Mi.(Ford head quarters) has the largest population of Middle east decended people in the country, and I heard that alot of Middle eastern decent people were rallying in the Dearborn area, I dont know if it was for support for America or what, but I'm sure it was, atleast I hope. I know during the Gulf war, there was alot of support for Iraq from Arab people out of Dearborn. I remember seeing a interview with a Arab guy on the news, and he said "I hope Iraq kills alot of Americans during this war", I'll never forget that.
My point here is, the majority of Arab americans are outraged by this, but also, there are still a few who are idiots, like in every nationality. The media always seems to show the idiots. If there are any supporters of this tragity in the USA, I say we need to deport them ASAP no questions asked!!!!!!!

 

well. even though you are not trying to start a debate...in order to have a debate you have to have two sides to debate. I dont think you are going to find anyone to argue with you on this one.

 

Robert, please do! I've had one on my truck for the last 6 or 7 years at least, it's just a little 3"x5" mounted to the top my whip which is on the rear bumper, since Tue. it has been placed at "half mast". I use a little saftey wire and a very small piece of clear packing tape to keep it in position. Also, you will ALWAYS find two flyin' at my house 24/7 (the second has 13 stars) and yes, both are lit during the night, this has also been "tradition" at my home for many, many years. Thoughts and prayers to all who have lost or have unaccounted for loved ones.

 

I'm going to get one tonite, definitely for the house, am debating on the truck.

 

Do it up! Deck that truck out like the USS George Washington during full parade, drape a flag right over that baby. Get one of those rear window sunscreens that is the mural of a waving American flag. It kind of saddens me thought that it takes an event like this for people to put their flags out. Those flags should be flying everyday of the year.
