Help with low idle?
Hello All:
Since the 120K mile service last year, my '90 F-150 V-8 302 has a really low idle. The main problem is it dies when at lights/stop signs if the AC or heater is on. A friend suggested the problem may be related to the AC unit.
I'm admittedly a crummy mechanic........can any of you troubleshoot what the problem might be? I've been told there isn't an idle adjustment in this engine as in true carbureted engines.

Make sure the Idle air control valve electrical connector is hooked up; it is a cylindrical solenoid located on the side of the intake throttle body with two screws on a diamond shaped flange. Just a thought.
