been gathering parts for a twin turbo on my 302 and now I'm looking for heads.what do ya'll think about a set of 2bbl cleveland heads on the 302 with a 650dbl pumper and twins.this is in a 78 250 4x4.I haven't selected a cam yet.
no compression at moment- prob end up with 8 - 8.5 - prob gonna run 2 head gaskets 2 keep it down - it's in pieces once again - waiting for parts - minimum of a month delay to get stuff to nz from the states waiting on forged pistons and rods - but am having second thoughts as to whether theblock is gonna hang in - debating buying a new block - probably won't till it cracks - cam is a crower item 15929 Turbomaster - also waiting for it to arrive - am in the process of fabing upsome new exhaust manifolds - estimating an easy 500 ponies at the crank
oh yeah that's what i'm talking about.ever since I got this clevor manifold from a swap meet I've been wanting to build a 302 with the heads and seeing as to how I've been putting this twin turbo together I figured what the hell.
good to hear someone else is doing it.I really won't be seeing high rpm with this motor in my 4x4.that's why I was wondering about the heads.
good luck on the project and I hope it meets you expectations.

Sounds like a great little toy!
Just MPO but the 2b heads could restrict total flow. You could also work the heads to help flow and increase combustion chamber volume too but I would never use more than one head gasket. Just too many ways to blow it out with boost. Since your using a twin setup total air volume can be huge with relativley low pressure and hence the need to ensure a good seal.
If I can find the spec card I'll post the spces. We used an Isky cam on a 302 with great results
Good luck with this project and let us know when its "alive".
