which tranny to use on a 460 swap?

Im putting a 72 460 into an IH pickup. I found a T-18 from a 73 390 and thought it would work but it doesnt. It seems the splines hit the pilot bearing, and the sleave over the splined shaft hit the disc. The input shaft otherwise seems to be the right length(it bolted up without the pilot bearing and clutch). Would a tranny from a 300 or a M block work? I know where i can get a 4 speed from a 400M. What other trannys can be used? Im using the 390 flywheel, 351M bellhousing and a windsor 11 inch pressure plate.
please, need help fast,
thanks,

Matt Bouwman
