Where does your dog Ride ?

I was looking at the "Shotgun Poll" and figured we ought to see what kind and where your dog rides in your truck. My blue heeler/border collie rides shotgun and also happens to be the alarm system. How 'bout yours.

My dog sits in the front seat. Sometimes he stands on it with his front paws on the dash to see where we're going.

Dont have another dog yet, but when we had our beagle he would ride in the middle between the wife and I and if it was only him and I than he would ride in her seat. Even had a doggie seat belt for him.

Sorry, but I like the inside of my truck dog hair and slober free. So old Lola goes in the bed and I have to tie her down or she just might go flying. She does love to go for a ride, and looks sad when she can't go

Katie (90lb Rottweiler) rides up front with dad and mom. That's really why I bought a Bronco - you ever try to drive a stick with a 90lb rot sitting/standing on your legs while you try to shift? Figured the Bronco would give her some of her own space in the back without having to worry about her going flying...

Bigfoot, 140 lb Afghan Hound, rides in the back of the pickup. It's the only spot big enough for him, unless he takes up the entire back seat of the Grand Marquis. Truck's got a canopy, and he like to make faces at drivers behind us. Alternate entertainment is to stick his head out of the sunroof on our Riviera and pretend he's flying. Jojo, the Golden pup, rides shotgun with his ears flying and a stupid dog grin on his face. He seems to think shotgun is the natural order of things.
Lady, the black Lab, will ride along if it can't be avoided- but would really rather just snooze by your feet at home. She's turned into quite a homebody in her old age.

When I had my 84 F-150 Rocket (my Brittany) rode in the front sometimes, he'd usually take the middle of the seat as close to me as he could get. When I'd get out he'd be in my seat standing guard. Sometimes driving down the road he'd venture over to the passenger seat, but most always he was next to me.
In my 96 Ranger same thing, sometimes he'd check out the back seat.
In the 2004 F-150 he rides in his dog box in the back, hard to let a dog that sheds so much and most of the time in the winter is muddy and sweaty and so on ride in the cab. Of course if I ever get a chance to go to the lake this year he'll ride in the front.

Rocket, (my Brittany):

Dont worry folks, his dog box is fairly plush: (Mine is just like this)

My dog - Dusty, a 100% pureblood, tanned Kelpie - rides out the back of my Ranger, F-350 or Pursuit Ute, untied, he loves it.
He's not allowed in the Cabin, he is usually covered in mud and cow manure - so am I, but someone has to drive...

As much criticism as I might get for it, my White German Shepherd rides in the back. He's about 105 lbs, and my truck is a regular cab. And truth be told, he likes it back there.

check my gallery for a pic of him in the project...

I usually ride shotgun while Possum (my blue heeler) drives.

Possum has rode up front with me since he was five weeks old. He is about one year old now, and has about 30,000 miles under his collar. That little dog lives to ride, I can't leave the house without him now, when the truck starts up he will find some way out of his cage to get to me.

Alot of people tell me I am crazy for letting a dirty, muddy, stinking dog ride up front in a brand new truck, but thats why ordered an XL model truck.

Coda (141 Rottweiler) used to ride shotgun, but not for atleast 5 months he won't be, he just had ACL surgery, 11 screws 1 pin and 2 plates. It's been a month and he's doing great!!!, we went to the Vet on Monday and he said just keep doing what we're doing.
Only walks on the leash, no stairs at all, no running around the house, so we keep him confined to a 12' x 22' room if you want to call that confined.

Cory, my Irish Terrier, rides shotgun in the front seat of my Bronco. If one of my daughters tries to sit up front, he'll sit on them because it's his seat. He's not huge but he's also not exactly the lap dog size at 42 pounds.
