Tired Flathead

When I got my truck the intake manifold, generator, exhaust headers, etc were all missing. I have replaced it with a 302 EFI.

I have decided to scrap the 239 V8; it has sat with the weather beating in on it for 30 plus years. I hate throwing anything away; would it be wise to remove any parts before hand ? I did remove the starter, but nothing else seems worth it.

Tom

If you were about a thousand miles closer I'd be on my way by to take it off your hands. If the block is not cracked, it will be worth something to someone up there. Try selling it for $50 or $100 (even if it's Canadian diollars) or give it away if you don't want to fool with selling it but don't chuck it unless you know it can't be rebuilt.

Would it be worth stripping it and having it checked for cracks? If it is good yo could get your money back I bet.

Do you have any other parts you don't need. I am rebuilding a 1950 m47 mercury 1/2 ton trying to get it as close to origonal as possible.
