Front wheel vibration
I have a periodic vibration in my left front wheel. It seems to do it after it is driven for a little bit and then it goes away, sometimes after I run down the interstate and exit it will do it. I get the brake shudder that has been discussed on other topics but this is different. It is almost like driving it with one front hub locked in. It is causing wear on that front tire, my dads 2000 does it and so does another guys 2001, but no one seems to know what causes it. 90% of the time it doesnt do it. Tie rods are good, stabilizer shock is good wheel bearings are good, brakes are fairly new, havnt had the rotor checked but Im assuming if it was warped it would do it all the time. Ford dealer doesnt have a clue. Can anyone help?
It seems to happen after using the brakes alot, Im leaning towards brake pads or bad rotor. I just find it odd that so many people I talk to have the same problem but no one has an answer. Talked to a guy yesterday that has the same problem.
Tires (balance) or a internal cord seperation
Ball Joints
wheel bearings
Rotors(will cause it even if there within spec) if they have any warpage at all.
Caliper hang is a common problem with our trucks. The slide pins bind up an stick causing one side or the other to not back away from the rotor.
Seen it alot
Have you had any brake service on your truck?
Make sure that you use premium matched pads.
A common problem is brake mafufactures have been changing the processes at which they make the pads, some pads have been softer then others within the same box of pads.Causing what you describe.
One other thing is to make sure one of your hubs is not binding in 2wheel drive.Chk by rotating the axle stub by the knuckle. It should move with little effort.

Front tire is wearing like it would with a bad tie rod end with tire working back and forth, sharp edges both directions as you run your hand back and forth across it and wear is evident all the way around with no spots worn more than others.
The truck drives like a dream 90% of the time.
I talked to a guy yesterday about what is going on and everything I have done to it and I am thinking it may be the pins on the calipers.
How do I know if they are sliding properly or what should I check for?
Causes are ball joints,shocks,tire rotation,alignment.
If you move the fronts to the back is the vibration still there?
Once a tire is cupping it needs to go to the back to flatten out and wear even again.
