I recently purchased the Superchip 1714, I agree it certainly does "wake up" my '04 screw, without much gas mileage penalty. There are a couple of screens that ask whether or not I am towing over 4000 lbs. I normally select no as I don't tow often. I don't see any observable changes in performance when selecting a yes answer to these heavy tow option screens. Can anyone tell me what a yes answer to these screens does in terms of changes in the program? I would assume it would alter the shape of the torque curve, bringing it on a bit more at lower RPM, but can't tell from the on road performance.
Don't have one but I would tend to think it would change the advance on the timing to a more conservative one if you are towing heavy loads. The opposite of what you are thinking?

I have Superchips Custom Tuner. The only difference I can tell you is that the shifts are firmer with the 87 performance tune vs. tow tune.
