Where's my oil?

I have no leaks, and no burning. I checked my oil after about 2000 miles, and had NONE regestering on the stick! I park on a slight decline back to front. Could that have been a mis-read? Are our trucks sensitive to being level to check the oil? I have good pressure, and added half a quart to be safe. I'll check again today at work where I am parked level.

Not my truck but, I had a 89 T-bird that used a quart every 3000 miles sense new, no know reason.

If you still have no oil on the stick after parking on level ground, take a look at the stick for a part number and check with a local dealer to make sure the part numbers match up. Could be the wrong stick.

my '81 customF-150 only gives a good read when she's been cool for a few hours...when warm she doesn't give a good read 'ever'...

valve stem seals are the reason for a lot of oil consumpsion.the rings dont wear out or stick if maintained properly. just because you dont see smoke out the tailpipe dosnt mean that its not burning it. pull the plugs and check for a build up of white crude on the plug

Burning oil could be the PCV valve. Try replacing this its cheap.

Park level and check when cold, then let us know.

Did you do the last oil change yourself?
Just for grins- are the oil filter and oil pan plug clean?
Have you checked for oil in the water?
