i have an 04 6.0 ...when i start it up in the mornings its smoke a little bit of white smoke...i have stacks on it so i notice it more because i can see it in my rear view mirror when i am in the truck...i have had it flashed like 3 weeks ago and was wondering if you guys think its and oil leak that is causing it...i have a predator and a hypertech so its definately not a stock truck...what do you think?
Without seeing the color blue or white and the volume of smoke it is hard to venture a guess.
That said, when cold, some small amount of initial white smoke is common. I have seen it vary from different fuel qualities and seen it diminish or dissapear with a cetane improving fuel additive.
My truck smokes a bit of white smoke EVERY morning nomatter the temp. Doesn't matter if the block heater was plugged in or not, or even if it is 60 deg in the morning. I am interested if this is common too.
i was having a good amount of white smoke at start up and on occasion it would do after operating temp was reached and truck was restarted . took it to dealer and they made an adjustment with the cold start operation and now it idles smoother and just a small amount of white smoke on start up after sitting all night. did notice tow haul mode is not as firm as it was before the dealer messed with it
