Water leak?

My b2 (88 2.9)has sprung a major leak some where at the back of the block.
any ideas what mite be leaking and how to fix it without pulling the motor or trans?

Bummer. It sounds as though you could have blown a head gasket, so long as you're sure it's not the heater core.. The only way to tell is to get in there with good light and a mirror to see where the leak's coming from.

It is draining out the bellhousing

If I remember correctly there are some frost plugs on the block inside the bell housing. It could likely be one of those leaking. You would have to pull the tranny and flywheel/flexplate to get at them.

you have four freeze plugs in the back where the bellhousing resides.
