DMch, I'll give that a shot and I'll get back to you after I look at where you said it was located.

Here goes. I really hope I can find it because I really want foglights on mine. I have my fingers crossed!

Thanks for the info!

I looked, but I don't see it. Do I have to pull off the wheel well in order to find it, or not?

Thanks!

I just went out and took another look. Mine is hanging up under the front drivers side bumper. Fastened to the outside of the wheel well is my DRL modual $130.00 ouch.
There is a 2 prong female plug just hanging there. Thats what the Ford Mech said was the fog light plug is I had fog lights Ford saves money by having just wiring harness made.
My Jeep has a mounting plate and all the holes for A/C. Why would some one order A/C for a TJ. You drive it all summer with the doors off.

PS

Maybe a 97 and a 98 are different and maybe US trucks and Canadian trucks do not have the same wiring harness.
I installed fog lights a couple of years ago and ran them of the battery and put on a aftermarket switch.

on my 2001 2 X 4 the right plug is behind the dual horns. It's a Right angle blue plug, with orange and black wires to it. It has a black dust cap over it with an orange band around it. on the left side it is above the frame to body bushing behind the front bumper. Colors are the same as the right side.

I just checked the drivers side and there is the same plug there. Mine doesn't have a cap over it, and it is pretty crusty.

Hmmm......

I'll take a much closer look. Maybe I overlooked it. Thanks for the info.

Would the harness work with 99 and up foglights if I wanted to put a 99-03 front end on mine? I'm thinking about going that route, try and modernize the truck.

Thanks again! I'll post back and let you know what I find.

I paid $65 for the DRL Module and resister(sp) in 2001, installed it myself, everything just plugs in to existing wire harness.

I didn't find the plug you described. I don't think I have the harness. I'll probably have my friend who works at the dealer look for it and show me where. I have a '97 Expedition which has factory foglights. I can use it for reference. But I still don't think I have the harness.

I asked the dealer about this and he said $1,000 for the complete foglight system. I'm not joking on this! How's that for a slap in the face? I just about dropped to the floor when I heard the price. That's why I want to be sure I have the harness. That would save me a lot of money.

Thanks!

What a deal! You should have ordered 2 sets!

It sure didn't sound like a deal to me. That is a lot of money for a foglight setup.

Yeah, I should have ordered two sets, but I didn't have that much on me at the time. It could be more money by now. Who knows???

Ah well.......

If it doesn't have the wiring I wouldn't pay $100 for the stock setup I would go for a aftermarket Eurolite or Street Glow or PIAA or similar kit for a 100-250 most of them seem in that price range anyway.
