hey guys, i am lookin to get into an f-350 cab and chassis sometime in the next 8-10 months. i am really leaning towards the manual tranny but i was just curious if anybody out there that has a manual in theirs and pulls heavy loads is having any clutch problems. i have a jd 350 dozer (24k includng truck and trailer) that i will be pullin round and maybe even a backhoe and i dont want to have the clutch slipping on me. i have a 5.4 w/ a 6 speed and i know that when i get on it the clutch slips in it. also, would the powerstroke have enough power to pull that wieght if i got it with 3:73 gears? i dont want the 4:10 if it can handle the big loads with 3:73 gears. and finally, if i was to get a single wheel truck over the dually will i regret it pulling the heavy loads? thanks guys.
I would go bigger if it was an option. That much weight you want something to handel it not just get by with. The new PSD will handel it no problem but get the 350 with 410 DWR.I like the auto with the tow comand but thats me. Good Luck
I would go to www.fordvehicles.com and find the tow ratings of vehicles. I do believe that you woud want the duals and an auto. especially with that much weight. Good luck and good hunting for a vehicle.
