'95 4x4 conversion

is it possible to convert a 95 to 4wd with an '82 donor truck? Or is there something that won't match up right? It would half to bolt up, no cutting or welding.

It won't bolt up since the frames are different. If you have a 95, you'd have better luck with a 87-95 donor truck.

But, if you can cut, drill and weld, you can put anything on anything if you want to.

Why bother? Ford literally made millions of these trucks. If the truck you want was made at the factory, chances are, you can sell the truck you have and buy the truck you want for a LOT LESS than the cost of some "conversion".

Polish up the old 2-wheeler and put it on Autotrader. Take that money, and the money you would have WASTED on a conversion, and buy a nice example of the truck you want. Chances are, you'll come out ahead. The book value on a MINT 1995 4x4 is less than $6000. If you can't afford that.....

The same is true for engine and tranny swaps. It is a lot less hassle and expense to just find the truck with the options you want than to try and make one.

Ask me how I know.....BTDT!
