a/c problem

my wife/s 98 exp a/c has a problem.it gradually became worse over time so now it won/t work at all.when you idle the a/c panel vents would work but as you accelerated it seemed to lose vaccum and it would default to the defrost vents..i found a canister behind the battery box and checked the lines.there was at 1 time a loose line and you could hear vaccum escaping after you turned the vehicle off..didn/t really seem to make any difference once i reconnected it..the rear overhead vents work and the a/c still blows cold.what up?

I am having the same problem with my 2000 expo. I thought I had a one of a kind wacky problem...

With some time gone by I have no idea what could be the problem. I am about to replace the air filter, being that all the air comes through this intake. I have an odd quarky feeling this has something to do with it.

I have a question for this site...

do ya'll have maintenance diagrams posted online for doing repair?
