Do I need to remove the CPS?
I need to get to the heads/head gasket and the manual says I need to remove the camshaft position sensor to remove the lower intake manifold. Is it neccesary? I overheated the engine and now it idles rough and has a gas odor. When I removed the plugs I noticed that they smelled like they had been soaking in gas. I really don't have a clue as to what the actual problem is, so any help would be appreaciated. There is no water in the oil to indicate a head/head gasket problem but that is what I have been told to check anyway.

If you think you might have a head/head gasket leak have you done a compression check on each cylinder? This would help to identify a head gasket leak. Still, I don't think that a head/head gasket problem would cause excess fuel to cylinders.
Since you overheated the engine, could it be that the engine coolant temperature sensor may have been damaged and is causing the computer to run rich?
Just a thought.
