Question Opinion Poll

I was thinking about the MUST have items for PSD while being out on the road. Beside having the basic items such as flash light, fuse, tape, flares etc.. I would like to hear your all thoughts on other items like CPS and a 10 MM socket....

I guess in a nut chell lets biuld a tool box....

Thanks Sam

I'd include a first aid kit and at least a quart of oil.

From experience...a car charger for your cell phone. It just plain sucks when the battery dies while you're calling for help.

Spare tire that can be easily removed/replaced (Mine was 2 hours to remove last Saturday and only had 25 psi left in it. Good thing I was checking it BEFORE heading out) The correct size lug wrench that will reach deep enough to get over the studs on the rear wheels. A gallon or two of distilled water or 50/50 anti-freeze mix. A breaker bar to replace a serpentine belt if'n ya need to.

For those that still have the through the belt upper radiator hose, besides a 1/2 inch breaker bar, the tools to replace the serp belt should include big pliers for the stock upper hose clamps, 18mm wrench (Pliers will work also) for the petcock and a clean bucket to drain the radiator into and a funnel to pour it back in.

Mummy style sleeping bag rated for -10 degrees.

On a more serious note, A good flaslight (mine is a Maglight) a few screwdrivers (philips and flathead), adjustable wrench, a rag or 2, pliers and a few odds and ends are what I carry around.

Actually, that stays on the truck most of the time, lol. Lincoln 250 that'll supply 8000 watts of power and weld anything, and of course you gotta have an oxy-acet setup. Never know when you'll have to reconstruct a Dodge or Chevy on the side of the road or trail!

i carry everything i need in my 5ver...! LOL...! seriously... lots of good stuff mentioned here, but lots of stuff i would never need... you have to have an idea of what kind of sittuation you might run into and try to be prepared for it... a good cell phone with good reception in the areas where you go is probably best.. you can't always be prepared for everything... but you can always call a friend for help... one other thing... you definately need the shotgun in the back window...! LOL..!
