I have a 86 cabxhalf 2 wheel with 6cyl just just got it back had it before well it now has a vibration in it while in motion and gets gradually worse the faster you go it has brand new tires on it and the guy said that the exhaust broke at the y pipe and he welded it back together had to push from the back to get enough pipe to weld didn't have vibration before this I looked under it and the pipe comming off the manifold is real close to the frame but dosen't seem to be touching and other suggestions the truck only has 71,000 miles on it runs like a dream otherwise one shock is leaking in front going to change it soon. Thanks Steve.
chack the balance on the new tires and if necessary have them high speed balanced where they spin the tire on a computerized balancer. check the u joints also.
Tequila ,
Also have a look to make sure the weights on still on the driveshaft . Usually a wheel out of balance is steady , depending on tire size . Do you have a one or two piece driveshaft on your truck ? Sometimes the center section of the shaft , the bearing and insulator wear .

I fixed one in my bronco by unbolting the driveshaft and flipping it 180 degrees. It had been dropped out at a garage for some rear end work and the mechanic forgot to mark it so it went back the same. This doesn't always create a problem but it is a cheap check. good luck
I have a 81-f-150 4x4 and had the same problem.Had mechanics look at the u-joints they said it was fine.Well since my father is a mechanic I had him look at the problem. He had the driveshaft looked at to make sure it was in balance, that was fine. Come to find out it was a bad u-joint up next to the trans. You may need another opinion.
Hey guys thanks for the info on Vibra. it was a u-joint half of it was froze up while the other half was fine found that out by taking drive shaft off and running it withe the body off the ground put the new joint in and away we go thanks again
