Fluid Leaking

My temperature started jumping and dropping in my B2, so I looked underneath and it looks like it is leaking out of the water pump or something. Sometimes while sitting it will leak up to 1/4 of a gallon, but then other times none at all. There is no oil in it whatsoever.

I was wondering 1) is this a fairly common problem and 2) how much does it usually cost in labor to get this done, assuming 60 dollars an hour for a mechanic.

Thanks for the help,
Lee

Run it for a minute, shut it off then feel he underside of the pump. Theres a "weep hole' & if it's wet the pump is leaking.

Look at the instructions for changing the water pump in your Haynes manual & you might decide to do this yourself. Pretty simple.

Did mine a few years ago & the rebuilt pump was 30 bucks at Napa.

An independant shop will probably get around $150 to do it.

Thats exactly what is was, the "weep" hole. Got it replaced at a local shop for 144. Didn't have time to do it myself, or the knowledge .

Thanks for you help,
Lee
