Has anyone tried putting of of these on a 96 or newer V8 truck? Do they make much of a difference? I figured I would add some shorty headers with it to get max power..Any comments are appreciated..

I added cat back exhaust, headers, throttle body spacer, Airaid air cleaner, Granatelli Mass Air Sensor and a computer chip.
Could I feel the difference? I'm not sure. The shifting was better due to the chip. At wide open throttle it had more pull and sounded better. I will say that freeway driving was better. The hills that used to make my truck kick down out of overdrive were easy to cruise over. I was making more horsepower, but how much exactly I couldn't tell.
My gas mileage went from 15 highway to averaging about 18.6 @ 70 miles per hour on the freeway. I tested this three times with trips to Minneapolis, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. I live in Washington State.
I just recently took everything off except for the headers and cat back and installed a Kenne Bell supercharger. Much more power, at all levels, and so far the fuel mileage seems to be about 18.5.
The hype for all of the bolt ons works well for selling the stuff. Some of it does increase power, but not so much that you can feel it. For a good read, go to Kenne Bell's website and read what they say about that stuff. They have dyno tested most of it and they really tell you about it. The good thing is that eBay can handle the stuff when you take it off.
yep, smokin good deal there 5.8. Its tough to buy these thangs and have them not give a return of some sort. Thats why we read up on em here but even then sometimes theres conflicting info.
Installed flexalite dual e-fans for $400 and didnt notice a bit of difference.. maybe more noise. painful lesson.
