this is how i "git er done"

heres my newest toy-
Colt lower half with 4-point telescoping stock $375+$20.00 transfer fee
Rock River Arms 16" upper half, midlength handguards, chrome lined barrel, flash hider, bayonet lug $429 shipped
Hogue rubber grip- $20.00 shipped
Troy industries single point sling and ambidextrious mounting plate- $51.00
Colt carry handle / rear sight- $75 shipped

i ordered all these parts from dealers and private individuals on AR15.com, all parts were new and unfired. i could have built the gun for less, but hey... its the EXACT gun i want which makes it priceless to me. i think my total cost is $980 so far.

That price is pretty reasonable. Considering at gun shows, you're hard pressed to find anything under a grand....used. Prices may start coming down but I have as yet to see it.

Guess I'll stick with my Mini-14. It's a little heavier, but still mighty fine.

Now you get to start adding "accessories".

fordlover- mini14 is a pretty good gun. ive owned a few but... i just HAD to trade up to an AR15 about a month after i turned 18. that ones a standard Colt 20" match target competition model, ive had it for over four years. i love AR15s. i spent $990 on that one brand new. now, due to lack of supply and demand for the Colts they are selling for 1300-1400 at gun shows, doesnt matter if they are new or used. the lower half i bought for the new one- i paid 375 for and i see them selling for over 500!!!

im not huge on accessories, i like the iron sights but i just might add an EOtech sight to the new one.
