rough running
check engine light coming on afterdriving during the winter it would take about 8-10 milesbefore coming on when it comes on the engine runs rough.now that its warm out it comes on after a couple miles.it will come on for a couple minutes then go out then on again..itried to get the codes with my freinds code reader but it tells me its not hooked up right ? theres only the two plugstheir and they are the right ones I also cleaned the connections on the plugs also and it works on my wifes car so its not the tester.seeing how it comes on differentley being warm or cold outside.maybe you guys could point me in the right direction for thi problem it runs decent but when the light comes on you can tell the difference.

it sounds like a electrical problem. if you can find someone with a nice scanner, or a snapon scanner, you can perform a wiggle test. this simulates driving circumstances and then stores the codes so you can target the particular system.
