As a recently graduated college student, newly relocated, I rely on my cell phone as my only source of contact.
Today, Friday, Cellular One for some reason disconnected my service again...they do this once a month, even though my bill is paid automatically. They say it is because I have moved, and the billing address change is making it shut me off automatically.
After six months I finally had a job lined up. I had not heard from the company in a couple days, but I assumed they were busy. Today I got an email that, because they were unable to contact me, they were unable to give me the position. They are not interested in someone who is difficult to reach.
60K/yr down the hole. Thanks Cell One!
Pretty sure screwing me over is not going to condemn anyone to an eternal afterlife in a lake of fire, but I can sure hope its a reason to turn the thermostat up a few degrees.
I know how you feel, Cingular one really screwed me over once but I won't discuss it here in an open forum.
But, I will say that I've had Nextel for about 6 months now and am relatively happy with them. The only problem that I have is their STUPID text messaging that keeps sending me advertisements that make my phone ring at 2am!!! I've called them to have text messaging turned off and they said that they can't turn it off. They said that some company has gotten my cell number and sold it to others. So, they changed my phone number and within 1 hour of the number change I received another advertising text message. It's obvious to me the only one selling my number is NEXTEL!!!
thats why i use trac fone. costs a little more for the minutes, but no contracts, works well if you get the right phone. [ i use the v60i ] fairly decent calling area, and if you dont like it, just shut it down, and your done with it...
I suggest e-mailing Cell None and forward the message from the prospective (now non-employing) employer.
Let Cell None know that you are really dis-satisfied with their lack of service.
For me . . . Verizon. I've been with them for a bunch of years. Several #s for the wife and a couple of kids.
The ONLY time I drop calls is when I am at work. My company uses Nextel and have 'repeaters' installed everywhere in the bldg.
(Hey, that's no problem. IF someone wants to call me, they have to use my company land-line.)
Just renewed (today) my phone with "James Earl Jones" for 2 yrs. I'm that happy with service.
I have had nextel for about 2 years or so now and dont have complaint number 1 on them. Never had any text messages for anything, not even from friends. I also have had cingular and t-mobile in the past and breathed a sigh after I had my nextel for a couple of months. Nextel has the best plans, and I pay the same amount in a month for 2 phones as I was paying at the other companies for 1 phone. A lot of people I talk to only have cingular cause of the minimal credit requirments, nextel is a bit steeper on their requirments. I would tell cell one where they could stick their phone if I were you. There are plenty other options out there that could care less how many times you move. Also, I have learned a while back that if you change physical addresses alot, you may do better to get a post office box for your mail, that way when you move you dont have to change your address on everything.
I have what was AT&T but now back to Cingular. So far, I have been fortunate not to get text spam, but I turned off my text messaging since I think it is lame....along with camera phones to boot.
Heck, those stupid downloaded musical tones drive me nuts as well.....thank goodness for my outdated Nokia 7100 or whatever it is. I don't want pics on my phone, don't want e-mail, don't want to watch TV on it...it's a friggin' phone, for pete's sake!

That has always been a peeve of mine also, that may be another reason I like nextel so much, it is strictly a work phone. My younger brother has all that fancy stuff on his $325 phone. I had to ask him if he was nuts. If I want to take a picture I will buy a camera, if I want to hear music, I will turn on the radio. He also pays an extra $20 a month on his plan for so many more text messages and I asked him why, and he told me cause when he is at work and cant talk on his phone he can text people. I told him that when he is at work, he is there to work and not to play with his phone. I dont get the logic in that. If you cant be seen talking on the phone, how will it look when you are trying to type a message and carry a conversation like that. I am not much older than he, but I dont understand his 16 year old logic.

I did just that. I sent the message to thier tech support, district manager, complaint department (Which does not have a phone or email, it is a PO Box...my guess? Same one Santa's letters go to.)
I've had a verizon phone for almost 2 years (just renewed my contract for another 2) and couldn't be happier. I pay ~$85 a month, get 1350 minutes, unlimited moble to mobile, web access, v2go service (ringtones, and graphics), and unlimited nights and weekends. I only drop calls inside the house (clad in aluminum, and is bad even for our wireless ethernet and cordless phone).
I've had Verizon for a couple of years now. I live in the mountains, and have yet to have a call dropped because of my service. My friends are constantly asking to use my phone to make calls from when we are out fourwheeling/camping/whatever....
i have verizon also. it's great most of the time. but where i live in the mountains of north west jersey the service a little bit short of nothing. they do admit they want to place a tower here . but the not in my back yard people always win.
I have both Verizon and Nextel. Company pays for both, but for the most part both are pretty good. I had a problem with verizon a few years back and switched my wifes phone to T-mobile. It works good for her.
I have Verizon and have had good luck with them. Cingular/SWB/AT&T, well that was a different story. All I can say is I won't use them again period even if it means not having a phone. They have no customer service at all and even after having them for 6 years and giving them who knows how much money they still would not take care of me. Oh well, I promised them I would tell as many people as possible about how they treat their customers and to this day I am still keeping my word on it.
