oil pans?!

Hi. I just bought a new motor for my truck (351M) and noticed that it has a front sump oil pan as opposed to the rear sump on my truck now. My question is: what is involved in switching from front to rear sump?
how easy of a swap is it?
do I need any additional parts?
Thanks

Jordan

just a swap of pans and pick up tube for that pan. you might also need to change out your dipstick as the length might be different. what engine do you have in it now? you might be able to just use the parts off of it.

There is a 351M in it right now, so I can rob all the parts I need off of that one?

isn't there a stud on a main bolt that holds the pick-up tube in place? that'll have to be swapped over too, and re-torqued properly.

yes you can swap all of that over, and there may be a stud you have to swap over as posted earlier.

I think that you can still buy that stud at the dealers. if you don't want to swap.

Thanks Guys! I'm hoping to get this done tomorrow as well as at bare minimum putting my new engine in place.
