Hooked up my new 05 CC F350 4x4 last weekend to my 27 foot 7100lb travel trailer, went about 1000 miles "there and back". Averaged about 12mpg going in nice conditions, some pretty long steep grades. Kept it around 65mph the whole time, including pulling the Cabbage Hill grade at 6% on I-84. Wasn't shifted down very much the entire trip going.
Return trip with a 30mph headwind netted me about 8mpg, could barely keep 55mph without significant downshifting...but that was about as fast as I wanted to travel anyway.
Like the integrated Tow Command brake controller, nice not having a box hanging below the dash! Seemed to work pretty well.
BTW, for those who might remember my issues with my 04....my dealer bent over backwards and helped me out of it, with a little support from Ford as well, surprisingly!! Past post...
