Flasher(s)?

Can anyone tell me if the 1972 F100 uses 1 flasher for both turn and emergency or are there two flasher units (one for turn, one for emergency)? If there are two, where is the turn flasher located?

My 72 has 2. If I recall correctly they're both behind the dasy. I think you can see them from underneath the dash but it's much easier if you just pull the dash.

You should have two. I had a slight problem finding the one for the turn signals when I first got my truck after scratching my head and looking for what seemed like 15 minutes I spotted it. It was located on top of my steering column in the stock bracket. These old ford flashers are blue plastic with a pesky retaining tab to hold them in if they are original. Your replacing it anyway break the tab. If you have big hands the most you should have to remove is your instrument cluster. You may be able to just reach around.

Wink Thanks Guys!

I found the darned thing. Thanks to qman for the "behind the dash tip". It's mounted to the back of the instrument cluster and easiest to reach by pulling the cluster. Thanks to 70blue for the "blue plastic" tip. Found it, replaced it, life goes on.
