Turns out I'm one of those idiots I point to on the highway driving with his blinker going!
I have an '86 F150. When I make a right turn the turn signal works fine and resets itself after completing the turn. However when I make a left turn the signal does'nt reset and I don't always catch it (thus the first sentence in this post (: ). Anyone know what causes this, what the fix is and about what it will cost?
Sounds like your turn-signal cam is not working properly. You'll have to pull your steering wheel to take a look. I had the problem with the turn signal not staying on during a right hand turn. Tried to replace the cam with an aftermarked one by HELPS --- did not work, and a waste of about $8. Ended up replacing the whole turn-signal/tilt apparatus for $125 from the ford dealer.
Your problem may be different, but by pulling the steering wheel, you can see why the cam is not disengaging after a turn.
Hope this helps.
