Hello from Australia

Hi All

A quick hello from Australia.

We run a business called American Custom Truck, and we specilise in wheels and accessories for American Pickup trucks and SUV's.

We use Ford-Trucks.com discussion list to help us get over technical challenges as they arise, as there is obviously a great "knowledge base" by the discussion list users. Thanks always for your help and thoughts.

American Pickup trucks aren't HUGE in Australia (mostly Japanese), but there is dedicated following who really dig their ruggedness and power. Most trucks are pretty standard, but we hope, wish and wait for the big upswing in trickin' 'em right up, and get that Sports Truck wave going.

Out of interest, Ford Australia has just started supplying new SuperDuty's (in Right Hand Drive) from Brazil. Australia has some of the worlds most rugged terrain, from desert to rainforest, it will certainly test 'em out. No word from GM (booo..hisss )entering the marketplace.

Feel free to visit our web site and make comments on the "Talking Trucks" page. ( XXXXXXXXXXXXX ). Feel free to tell us about your Ford Truck.

Again, thanks for your help everyone and we look forward chatting to you in weeks to come.

Can we also take this opportunity to pass on our thoughts and sympathies to all American's for the tragic losses in New York and Washington recently. Some Aussies were lost as well, and we share your sorrow, and look forward to better days ahead.

Regards

Steve McLaren ( XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX )

Hello from Australia

Thanks for your condolences, Steve. I think I speak for almost all of us when I say we are all in this together. And I'm glad this site is helping your company as much as it's helping me. I love it, it's the best of the net in my opinion.

Hello from Australia

As I understand it, when the modified Cleveland was no longer done in the USA, the tool and die equipment was sold to Australia...

So then you are the people we should be talking to for new and high performance versions of those engines...

Can you "Walkabout" and look into it for us?

There is also the three rotor cosmo engine for the wankel line of mazda....

The Japanese prefered to let their used vehicles to Australia rather than introduce them to the US market...

Any info about sources "Down Under" would be more than appreciated...

*Lifts a pint of Stienlager to you*

~ Cheers...

Hello from Australia

Steve,

I removed the links in your postings. While we welcome your participation, advertising is not allowed on the boards (see: https://www.ford-trucks.com/guidelines.html linked on the bottom of the posting form).

The site is supported in part by paid advertisers. It is not fair to give free advertising to sites when others have faithfully supported us since we were a very small site. Without them, we wouldn't be here.

You are welcome to contact me directly to submit your site to our links section, that will give you some exposure (last run of the logs show us at over 980,000 monthly visitors). Note that for any commercial site, we require a reciprocal link (personal sites have no requirements because we WANT to give our users as much traffic as possible).

Regards,
Ken Payne
