If I understand the question correct you want to know if an engine out of a 250 will fit into your truck. The answer to that is yes. Basically the only other differences would be if one is a 2WD and one is a 4WD

Well, more specifically, i want to put in an engine that isn't available for the 150...a diesel. I would expect the engine mounts to all be in the correct spots(although this might not be entirely true), my concern is that the diesel will be too heavy for the 150's frame. Suspension is no problem...i can mess around with that...it's the frame that i'm worried about.

I don't imagine that the frame will bend, my father has a 90 F150 2wd with a 300 I-6/4 speed and he has had a 14000 pound PTO winch(roughly 350 lbs)hanging off the nose of it for the last 9 years(why I have no clue), the frame is still straight, but the front springs have collapsed twice, so, I suspect the suspension will be your only problem.
