thunderbird special

i have a 1964 Ford galaxie 500 convertible. The original motor is the 390 thunderbird special.

On the air breather which 390 sticker is suppose to be on it, and where?

62-64 390 air cleaner decal...eBay item 4547023738. It goes on the top of the aircleaner on the outer rim edge. Front and center.

i have got that sticker but i was thinking that it was the orange white and black one

also the front and center is not where the original was??? i know it seems dumb to ask that when i know where it came from but it is off to the driver side of the air cleaner. is this right or wrong ?????

You might be right on that sticker. I thought the ebay one looked like the later 390 stickers. As far as placement goes I've seen them only to the front and not the side. Have you asked at the Galaxie club of America site??? www.galaxieclub.com I'm sure those guys will know what and where. www.fordfe.com a bunch of Galaxie guys hang there also. G.

I was checking out some cars on ebay and see the rear placement you mentioned. I've only seen the ones with the chrome dressup package which have the sticker in the front. I think that stuck in my mind for some reason. Anyway I saw a 63 1/2 all original with the sticker on the rear left (dr) side opposite the snorkel. Then saw a 64 with the sticker on the rear right (pass) side. I think the 64 had been restored in the 80's though. Also the sticker was the white,orange and black for a 390 on both. Both these cars had painted air cleaners and valve covers.
