Cool problems with hesatation.

when im diving down the road all of the sudden my truck begins to bog down and not want to accelarte until i hammer the gas then it takes off, i changed the fuel filter, plugs, wires and it has a custome air intake a y peice of exhaust pipe welded into a 3 inch pipe with a cone filter held on by vulcan hosing and hose clamps its seams alright it makes a a nice sucking sound when you hammer the gas as for the crankcase breather i use an aftermarket cone one. well now recently my truck either wont start or it starts and just die a block or two away from my house, i was wondering is the a possiblity that the fuel lines are plugged, this truck sit for a year or two before i did any thing for it and do you think i should put something in the tank to clean it out i did use a can of seafoam in the tank but there might be crap in the tank from were it sat so long im realy unsure and frankly im getting very pissy cause i cant figure out whats wrong, it seems like when i fix something another part goes out on me.

one more ? when you press on the little valve to check fuel pressure should fuel come out and do you have to have the vehicle running when you are testing this pressure

oh dose anyone know were i can find any oild dipstick tube?

SPECS: 1987 F-150 2wd 4 speed manual dual tanks 4.9L 300 EFI

chevy trail blazer exhaust sounds great from a 2000

Exclamation

well i checked the fuel pressure with a gauge, the gauge reads 0 fuel pressure so i decided to ask a professional about it he did mention something about a fuel cutoff switch or button but he said he did not know exactly where it is located any ideas? so if some one can tell me where its at that would be great oh and can some one point me to a website that has exploded views of under the hood and dash that would be great.

your fuel cuttoff switch is near the steering column on the firewall, inside the truck. press the white button on top to reset it.
looks like we share identical trucks.

since you found water in your fuel system, you probably need to flush it.
another thing is you probably have way to big of an exuast system for the 300.
When you are running the small 300 you have to keep in mind, with the three inch exuast you are not giving the engine very much bckpressure to run.If it were me the biggest I would go with it would be about 2 1/2 inches.

let me refrase what is said i found one of the problems the relay full of water was my fault cause its normally its hooked to an air box with another relay by that i cannot identify so i dont know how to replace it know one can idetifiy it.anyways that little junctuion box got turned upside down and it filled with water from rain, so there aint water in the fuel system just in the relay. second problem stupid cutoff switch died as well so i closed the circuit and that works but no it seems that it wants to die after warming up if it dies it a pain in the @$$ start up again checked compression it okay plugs wire, im gonna get to the cap and rotor this weekend as but im still kinda unsure about what it could be im gonna take off my throttle body and clean it too, maybe that will do something, as for that other relay i have know idea what it is but i guess i could open my haynes manula and check the wirring diagram for that any other ideas?

oh i think im gonna go with the staight pipes to the x shape for exhaust in my city we dont have an noise ordanace or emmisions testing so i can play alittle.
