Fast idle adjustment

I have a 1979 351m with a 2150 2 barrel. dose any one know if the fast idel speed adjusting screw must be on the V of the fast idel cam, or go past it?

I am assuming you mean the fast idle cam of the choke system? Don't know what you mean by on the V or go past it. Cam has multiple steps from low to high. Usually the fast idle speed is set using a tach on the highest step of the cam.

He is talking about a V that is etched onto the fast idle cam. With the choke snapped shut, hold down the choke pulloff piston so that the choke opens slightly. While still holding, open the throttle a bit and the cam will drop a tad. Let the throttle back down, let go of the pulloff, and the screw (or cam follower) should be resting right on the V.
