There is a tool, it looks like the same tool that is used in the air conditioning connectors and other fuel line connectors, I think it is a 5/16" tube, you need to push the connectors towards the fuel filter before using the tool, you can stick the tool around the fuel filter tube then push the fuel pipe connector towards the tool, then push the tool into the connector, there is stainless steel fingers inside the connector that spread inwards and clamp around the tube which keeps it on the fuel filter, the tool spreads those fingers outwards, then off comes the connector. They can be a bear. Not much room. If worse comes your way, the stainless steel finger clamp is a replaceble part from Ford, 2 different sizes available, I had to pry one apart one time. hope this helps

reclarify, the tool in the Snap on and Mac tool catalogs is called a Fuel Line Disconnect Tool
Snap-On part # YA9457 1st choice if money was not an issue and I could get my hands on them, or unless I wanted a good set to use many times over, these are metal plyer style.

Mac Tool has two different ones:
#1- FL660 1st choice plastic, folding set, 5/16" and 3/8" one tool
#2- FL7361 2nd choice plastic, 2 pieces 1-- 5/16", 1-- 3/8"
Lysle has a set, 73000 a set of 7? about 20 bucks
these have a wider gap on the one side of the circle disconnet, if the finger inside gets between the tool edges, you will not get the line off, I would not use these unless I had no other choice.
