I posted this thread earlier in the audio section, and haven't received a response. I am replacing the speakers in my 04 SCrew, and wanted to know if anyone had removed the rear door panel, or had previously accessed the speakers.
The front speaker guards removed in 15 seconds by a little prying with flat head. However, this doesn't appear to be an option in the back.
Yeah, that was all. It only took a few minutes to install the speakers. The speaker guard pops right off with a flat headed screw driver. I just don't see any way to do this to the rear.
I finally found out how to take off the rear door panels. Thanks to the great posting on the site, I found where someone else had submitted a similar question to mine. One of the users had removed his door panels and provided step by step instructions on how to do it. I can't remember who it was or I would give him credit.
If anyone wants to know how, let me know and I will post them in this thread as well.
I orderd a new head unit from Crutchfield, and in the instructions they included step by step pictures and captions in removing the door panels. I will see if there is something on there website or simply post what I found before
The rear doors: you have to remove 6 screws. 2 at the bottom of the door. 2 underneath the little plastic piece behind the door handle. 1 at the top outer portion of the door underneath the slender plastic piece that pops off, and 1 more underneath the electric window switch panel that pops off.

I haven't posted the instructions. To be honest with you, I completely forgot. I completed the speaker installation a while back. The speakers I got where from Crutchfield and they provided step by step instructions. I will see if I can get my hands on the instructions this weekend, and get them to you on Monday.
