I was just checking out crutchfield, was looking at a bazooka 6" that might fit behind the rear cc seat on an 04 F-350, and came about to a powered sub that is flat!! I think the dimensions were only 4" thick, and in the description said it will fit under a seat? Kenwood made this perticular one, sorry I dont have the link. Any one seen this before, If so, how do they sound??
I know what you're talking about, but I have never personally heard one. I have heard the Blaupunkt Overdrive subs though.. and they sound really good. High audio quality and they hit hard and solid. But they're pricey. They are made for shallow mount applications though, and are slightly thicker than the height of a AA battery.
Nice! that thing hits lower than my Polk 10. I was also going to say go to a shop that sells Premier and have a look at the truck subs. Also 12s and also about 4" thick and sound damn sweet.
Man i would love to buy those if i had the cash, then i could get my leg room back.... Guess ill just stick with my two JL 10's behind the seat. Having a regular cab with a bench is no fun at all lol.
Hmmmm i checked and theres another model that has same specs and everything that just looks different, and its 200 dollars (also from blaupunkt sp?). It says that these speakers are for open air application, like a trunk. Now how would i go about putting these behind the bench seat in my truck (reg cab)? Would it be safe for a sealed or ported box, or just mount them to the back of the cab somehow, like a board? Im currently running two JL10w0's and an eclipse bridged 200watt amp. I would probably sell the subs and boxs, use the same amp/wiring.
I doubt the open air subs would sound as good as what you have. They are most likely designed to be mounted so that your trunk is the box. (remove the rear seat and mount the subs to mdf in place of the seat back) kind of like the 6.5" open air woofers in the doors of the '02+ Rams.
Open air subs treat the trunk of a car as their box, it wouldn't work with your truck unless you decided to put a wall up, but you only have a regular cab so that wouldn't work. They should be able to be put in a box, see what it recommends for ported and sealed boxes.
