Depending on what your going for, Flat subs can be a blessing or a curse.
Thier are other companies, besides Blaupunkt...I think somebody up higher mentioned Pioneer, but also Earthquake...Planet Audio (?) used too, but I don't know if they still do.
Flat subs operate differently, as they don't have typical spider setup. They will not put out very low bass tones, because they do not have the excursion. My opinion is that they sound kind of flat and dull...however, I am typically more fond of the top end audiophile stuff, so keep that in mind.
There was a review I found on some car audio web site some time ago...unfortunately, I can't remember where, and I couldn't find it through google...but it's out there.
There is a new thin sub from Blaupunkt that is designated THw, it is much cheaper than the overdrives at $200.00 for a 12" but its still just as thin. However, nobody seems to be selling them yet, at least that I can find.
Yeah ill shoot the company an email today, and see whats up. On the sites that have these subs, it says for reccommended enclosures, that they do not reccommend any kind of sealed or ported box, only open air. Thanks for the replys.
