Finally got the beast together. Took it over to TMeyer and ran it on the Dyno. I am working on scanning the Dyno graphs to post, its been pretty hectic lately. Heres the numbers though.
We pulled it 7 times on the dyno. For the sake of time and space I will just put the peak numbers here. I will hopefully be able to post the dyno graph later.
Peak HP 333
Peak Torque 428 ft/lbs
The lowest values still are pretty impressive, 330HP 420 ft/lbs of torque.
I want to take time here and thank Tim for all his help and advice during my rebuild, the guy really knows his Fords......... Thanks again Tim.
Hopefully Andy won't mind if I answer for him. I'm not sure how often he is on here. The block was not resurfaced at all. So with the badgers, he would be about .075" in the hole. CR would be around very low 9's. There was no head work done, just a VJ, guide work and resurface to make flat.
whats his DCR work out to be with low 9's mech comp and a inatke close of 65*? What he running for base timing and what at full adv? What octane pump fuel is he using? sorry for all the Q's but is build is real similiar to mine, just want to compare to my specs. Thanx!
Thanks got to go to Tim for getting some info on here for me, life has been very hectic the last few months. DCR?? I dont know what that is, Sorry. As for base timing, I am at the stock 12-13 degrees using the stock ignition system, full advance I think is close to 30 deg. I am running 89 octane (this is a 10% ethanol blend) I had to rejet the carb, it was a little lean with 65 in the primary and 68 in the secondaries. I now have the 68 in the primarys and 70 in the secondary.
DCR stands for dynamic compression ratio and takes into account when your valves open and I suppose more importantly close in relation to where the piston is. The cr Tim refered to is the static compression ratio which is strictly based on combustion chamber size, piston and stroke. In easier terms it is the dcr that will tell us whether or not you are likely to ping.
Thanks for the info Tastyklair! I dont know what the DCR is or where to find the information, but I will get it if you can give me a hint where to look .
This build has been a learning experience for me. I always wanted to build an engine and I really enjoyed this. Tim Meyer was a great source of information and advice during the build as was a very good freind of mine, we used to to a lot of shadetree work. I enjoy logging in here and browsing for info, and occasionally being able to help out with some of the stuff that I have run into with my trusty ford.
