An old boy offered me $600 and the truck in trade of a '49 Pontiac Sivler Streak that I had. I had bought the Pontiac for $125 and had maybe $200 more in it and wa slooking for an older truck to play with...
...my first thought was-- whoa, thats a little rough but.....
I finally found one!!!!!!!! and its only $400,(1974) and why did he try to put a 390 in it,and where are all the missing parts?..all I have to do it strip it to the frame and start over...and now I can't believe I still have it
I finally found one!! It was just what I was looking for, BIG!, OLD! and UGLY!!! and of coures SOLID! It's a FORD after all. Then I thought 'Who the Hell put a C***Y bed on it???? Well it's gone now and we are feeling much better.
When I saw it: "neat old truck!"
A week later: "How can there be no motor mounts?!"
A month later: "It does run!"
A year later: "Gee, it needs more than I thought"
4 yrs later: " Well, as long as I've gone this far..."
IndianDave,
That makes me laugh, especially since I had to tell the ol' lady last night that, yes, I just aquired another truck.
I'm an equal opportunity truck geek. I have my 49 F1. I picked up a 59 Dodge D100 that my 10 year old has his eye on, and last night I picked up a 66 Chevy that I think my 14 year old will enjoy
Too many trucks...........too little time
