Does anyone know??

I have 2 problems with my X right now....

While I am driving, sometimes but not always, the steering wheel wiggles back and forth. I don't think it's wheel weights because it doesn't do it all the time.......Anyone know of another cause of this?

Also, right after startup, it sometimes acts as if the 4x4 is trying to engage itself......anyone know a cause of this one?

Could both of thse things be caused by the same problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!

I would inspect your tie rods for too much play. The drag link would be next on my list.

Check your steering dampener, too.

Whta do you mean "it sometimes acts as if the 4x4 is trying to engage itself"? What is it doing that you are noticing?

Sometimes at startup (but not always), when turning out a parking space it's hard to turn and jumpy - like 4x4 is engaged on dry pavement. Also, my 4x4 won't engage when I do need it (like this past winter)

Thanks for the help....Now I atleast have a starting place.....
