Has anybody had any luck dealing with ford customer service and reigonal reps when having issues. Real Quick, the problems. Oil leaks, Intercooler tubes replaced, oil filter housing o-rings and gaskets replaced, head gaskets replaced, R.M.S. replaced, bed plate gaskets replaced. and other typical issues,,EGR valves, exhaust in cab, ect. I have met with district engineer, talked with mecanich, talked with service rep. Nobody seems to have any ideas as to why this thing keeps springing oil leaks. this is an 04 f-250 crew cab 4x4 diesel. Been back to the shop 15 times in 14 months. I have requested vehicle replacement and cust. service says since the head engineer reccomended a fix that they would have to monitor the vehicle. I will take any advice I can get on the subject. Thanks in advance and sorry about the long post.
If the dealer really is trying to help and not just jacking you around give them a chance. I understand the frustrations. It almost sounds like that when the regional engineer is is there the truck either isn't, or isn't having problems. Is this a serious leak or just a small seepage? I'd expect a little seepage regardless of age as these newer motors are shipped with a semi-synthetic that reacts differently with the rubber seals than a dino oil.
The truck has 32000 miles on it. The leaks are serious enough to leave oil on the driveway. My customers love that. The engineer said to replace the only thing that hasnt been replaced. Mechanis said that there were no obvious signs of leak at the bedplate...gaskets were fine. The motor has been torn down to the point that the only thing that hasnt been pulled is the cam and the pistons. The dealer is trying, I will give them that, But 15 times in the shop in 14 months, Motor been out of the truck twice. Glad im not the mechanic. to me Its like trying to fix a plumbing leak in an 80 yr. old house There, FIXED, turn water back on, shoot, two more leaks. Turn water back off. Very frustrating. Too bad I love the truck.
