C4 tranny problems
hey guys! i just got my new truck running. i bought a 71 F-100 with a 302 and a C4 auto in it. the problem with the tranny is that it will go into reverse no problem, but none of the foward gears work. you can hear it want to go in but it doesn't. i checked the fluid and it was fine. what would you guys recommend me to check, repair, or replace? i am planning on changing the fluid and the filter to make sure that is clean, adjusting the bands, and changing the modulator valve. can you guys add anything else to check?

I am not as familure with the C4's, but on a GM transmission if you can burn rubber in reverse and foward slips it's usally the pump or a leak in the pressure from the pump ie. broken or worn seal ring. Reverse takes less pressure and the convertor pressure seems to be enough.
