Ive got a 1979 F100 to restore. Most of the body is good, but I really need a new bed. Ive checked junk yards, but those beds are in worse shape than mine. Any suggestions where I could get a new bed (or any other parts for that matter).
Thanks.
If it is just the exterior panels that are damaged, then you can buy new panels and have them welded in at a body shop. I know guy who did this and his truck looks great. No more rust!!!!

Here's what I did - I quit looking for a bed and start looking for a whole truck. I found a '77 F150 with a bad motor but a decent cab and perfect bed for $500. It wasn't running and the guy was happy to get it out of this driveway. Trucks from southern states with toppers are your best bet, they haven't been exposed to salt and the toppers keep the water out of the seams of the bed. Strip what you need and sell or scrap the rest.
Just a thought, anyway. Good luck with your search.
I just got back from vacation in southern ca and decided just for the heck of it to check a pick a part while there and I found a 77 f150 4x4 with a real nice bed. I have a 76 f150 4x4 and where I live I can't find any good beds or 4x4 models in the wrecking yards. Should have taken the car and a small trailer.
