I've been on here before talking about my junk-filled garage, and how to deal with it. Well, after months of selling stuff, throwing out stuff, and re-arranging stuff, I actually put my '64 project IN the garage! You can actually walk all the way around it! Even with the door closed! The other half of the garage is still a little busy, but soon I hope to get the donor chassis in there too, and start working on it. It CAN be done!
I've been trying to sell stuff off, I finally got all the debris from my last project out of there, but I still have five engines in pieces, an automatic tranny, two transfer cases (one's blown apart in a box), a D44HD front axle, a D61 semi-float rear axle, plus all my tools in a garage that would be a tight fit for a Honda. I knew I had a problem when I set up my solvent tank and couldn't get to it without climbing over stuff, and that was before two of the engines showed up.
We should start a group, something like Junkahaulics Anonymous.

Sign me up! I am 3/4 of the way into emptying out my shed and garage at home to move into my 25x40 workshop and am already out of space. HELP! The plan to have two cars in it has already shrunk down to one and now my Dad wants room for his motorcycles. When I asked him why he has three of them, he looked around in my shop and asked why do I have two trucks and a car? I had no comeback.
Glad to hear of your progress, FLgargoyle, I know it is tough but you have obviously been taking it one-piece-of junk-at-a-time!
I can quit bringing junk home anytime... no really, I can! Maybe we need to come up w/a 12 step program. What motivated me is that I want to move out to the country in a few years, and I can't realize that dream until I get my stuff under control. I'm also getting my financial house in order (cutting down on projects helps in that regard, too), then trying to figure out how I'm gonna make a living out in the sticks- maybe I'll open a JUNKyard!
I figure I have enough stuff and experience that if somebody comes buy with a problem, I already have a part that'll work, and the skills to make it fit.
I cleaned up (organized?) my garage last Dec before coming south. We were able to get a 66 short bed and a 76 Elite inside and still walk around. It was a long time... I even found a 100mph speedometer for my 78 SC....
