Where I can find information to replace front wheel bearing on my Ranger 4x4 with ABS. I looked in the hayness manual, it is the good manual for this truck but the procedure description never seem to be correspond to my truck. When I called my part supplier it told me it is a sealed package, but on Hayness exploded view it is two differents bearings it can be remove individualy.
I had what I assume is a similar situation on a wifes Neon. Tried to replace a front wheel bearing, and NAPA wanted to sell me the complete hub/housing assembly, because thats what they carried. Repair manual said bearings were supposed to be pressed out with special tools. It took some extra work, but I was able to press out, and replace just the bearings. You may want to figure out exactly what is needed to replace just the bearings before you go that route. It's kinda like alternators...20 years ago, you would take one apart and rebuild it, now you get a rebuilt one from the parts store.
Thank you, I called my Ford dealer and ask price for the bearing. It is much cheaper at Ford dealer than car part store like Napa but I don't if is it exactly the same part.
