Does anyone know if you can put a factory navigation unit in an 04 expedition that didnt come with navigation? Just wondering how easy it is to do. I know the GM units are pretty easy as I have done it in my Avalanche, but now I want to know if I can do the same in an expedition. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I would assume you can. If you're planning on getting satellite radio, then don't upgrade because the NAV radio is not SAT ready. I have the NAV radio and am pretty disappointed with the lack of the SAT-ready feature. I can't see why an upgraded radio wouldn't the SAT button.
The NAV radio is a little weak compared to others I've seen, such as the Lexus unit which I think is made by Eclipse. I got the factory NAV radio because I wanted the radio to interact with the DVD and steering controls, but if you don't have DVD and don't want SAT, go with the Eclipse unit.
One thing to consider: the Nav unit does not have a built-in CD player -- it's a separate unit mounted in the center console. So you will also need to purchase and install the CD changer separately (if you want to be able to play CD's).

That's not quite true. Take out the map CD and you can play a music CD.
I was wondering if anyone knows what is involved in changing out the radio-6 disc to a navigation/radio/cd. What will I need besides the unit and map cd's?
it is best to go with an aftermarket unit such as the navic-n1 by pioneer. The navic n-2 does not allow you or your passenger to watch video or change coordinance while vehicle is in motion. I use these units in all my cars and trucks due to the fact you can install them and includes dvd sat. radio and navi.
