Oil seepage?

Oil seepage?
I was looking at a used 1999 F250 Super Duty with 157,000 miles on it and noticed oil on the oil pan that seemed to be coming from the valve cover gasket or maybe even from the flywheel cover. Dealer said "normal seepage for that number of miles". Any comments on "oil seepage". I did not buy the truck because I didn't like the answer and it looked like it could be expensive.
