Dana 44 inner seal problem
Hello,
I have a 78' F-250 and I need to replace the inner seals on the front differential. My problem is how do I get the housing and axle tube apart? Are they pressed together or what? Any help on this problem is much appreciated.

beeboy said it,Housing Spreader.I've done it with 2 prybars,just working back/forth.The bad news is I've gotten a few out like that,but had a few that didn't want to go back in without the spreader.But a majority of the time there was no prob.

unfortunately, that spreader is like a $250 tool. But if you can, or know someone that does, weld, you could fab one up yourself for a few bux. There is a hole in each side of the housing that it fits into and pushes the housing apart just a little. Go too far and you ruin stuff.
