Another starting issue thread
I know this has been covered because I spent the last 2 hours searching this forum as well as several others. All the threads I ran across list suggestions but no one has said "this fixed it" so I'd like to hear from people that have had these symptoms and have fixed the problem.
I have a 2000 Expedition. About a month ago I jumped in it to head to the store and it would crank over but not start. Like it wasnt getting fuel. I tried a few more times and it finally kicked over. It ran fine all day every day untill tonight. I drove to the store, spent about 15 minutes in there. Came out and it would not start. Engine would crank over fine but no starting. I got it towed home (flat bed that is) and tried the wifes key in it. No luck. Her key was working fine yesterday (it is her vehicle to tote the kids around in).
I have heard suggestions about the Fuel pump and related reset switch, security system shutting off injectors and the chip in the keys going bad. Has anyone solved this issue? And where can I find a port to test fuel pressure?
I checked all fuses, there is no moisture around the fuse box or anywhere I can see behind the dash. I stuck my ear on the fuel tank (what fun) and could not hear the fuel pump but I dont know if they only run when pressure drops ir if they run all the time.
Thanx in advance for the help and dont ban me for beating a dead horse.

You will hear the fuel pump pressurize the system right when you turn the key (but do not start it) and then it will run after whenever the truck is running.
Does it start with your foot in the gas?
Edit: Called the local dealer and they said it's very rare for the PATS to get scrabled so thay dont think that is it. He said some sensor is probably bad. Not alot of help there.
