question on 3m film and removing radio
I recently recieved my lo-profile ford hood deflector and after reading up on it have decided to look for some 3m film to put on the front of the hood behind it. do you guys see any problems with this? has anyone done it? and is it possible to get that stuff locally? at an autoparts or somewhere else.
Also my factory audiphile radio in my 04 has been slightly crooked where it sits and it has always bothered i am hesitant to rip off that molding around the radio. i have tried yanking on it from different directions and it doesn't seem to budge? am i doing something wrong? i am talking about in the lariat(in my case)for example the wood colored trim piece right around the radio and ac controls, thanks for any help

The eight white clips are very sharp, and very firm the first time. They will scatch anything they touch, so I like to have a towel drapped on the passenger side, to hang the surround against. That way you don't have to take loose any of the wires. Be sure to put the white clips back into the surround before reinstalling. One or two like to stay in the dash, the first time you pull it.
There is a 'key' that keeps the radio straight. Dunno how to put one in crooked. Four screws, the harness, and the radio antenna are what you remove to pull the radio.
I've had four radios in my truck, and now have a radio and popout monitor in that hole. Very very flexiable.

man i swear they welded that sucker on there, i opened the ashtray as mentioned and started from there. The trim piece seemed to loosen on both sides at the bottom then it wouldn't give any further i thought i was gonnna snap the piece in half yanking on it. would'nt give, i guess i'll have to go at it again. i thought about letting the dealership fix the crooked radio. but, if i can do it myself than why give them a chance to screw something up. I guess i'll make a more concerted effort this evening.
anybody got a clue as to where to get that film, like the stuff you put on headlights but i want to put it behind a bug deflector to protect the paint?
sorry so long, thanks
