Question opinions
I'm wondering if my 86 br2 which has a couple hundred thousand miles on it can pull this heavy fiberglass boat I'm fixin..its 17 1/2 ft and wieghs a kazillion lbs..I dont wanna trash my truck..but it would sure be nice if it could pull it...maybe a compression test or something would indicate if its capable?????

is the boat a open run about boat? How far are you towing? 6cyl should be fine to tow a 17ft boat..heck i used to tow a 19ft Cabin cruiser with mine..now that was pushing it.

I would be worried about the auto tranny, clutch and stopping if it's that heavy, an auto tranny should have a extra cooler if your going far.

Let us not forget how short the wheelbase in on a B2. My experiance is that short wheel base vehicles do not pull long items very well.
